St. Michael The Archangel

St. Michael The Archangel

Today, September 29th, our Church celebrates the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, the Archangels. Though never formally canonized, we know these three Archangels are with God in eternity, making them saints.

Saint Michael fought against the devil and is honored as protector of our Church. He is called upon as an intercessor for all of us to turn away from Satan and for those who are struggling with the devil’s hold during their final hours. Saint Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus, appearing to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Zachariah. Saint Raphael cared for Tobias on his long journey.

Use this printable to create a shield for your child. Consider printing it on cardstock or attaching it to a thicker paper like construction paper to make it a little more sturdy. Use a third of an additional paper to create a loop on the back so your child can wear the shield around today. If you are feeling extra festive, enjoy some angel food cake with your family! However you celebrate, remember to talk to your child about the important role the Archangels play in our Church and pray the Saint Michael prayer tonight, asking for his protection today for you and our Church.
